November is an evocative month. I have always enjoyed it. In my many southern hemisphere years, it heralded the departure of spring and arrival of summer; the days warming, the agapanthus and Jacarandas blooming and tingling the air purple. In these northern climes, it shifts the grumblement of October into the maw of winter... and anticipation of festivities and hunkering down against the likelihood of storms. I love music which can somehow convey the mood of the season. I also love Chopin - one of the moodiest composers ever.
Prepare yourselves, m'dears, this month, I bring you a set of pieces from this composer, which I hope will bring you the November feels. First, a ballade... a narrative composition, a story in sound. Close your eyes and let the notes hit your cells and imagination. Where does this piece take you? Mountains, forest, valley or lea? Seashore or raging river..??? What weather does it tell you of? Let me know down below!
Hi Yamini - I have always liked your choice of music. In fact, you have introduced me to some delightful compositions. This one is yet another. I don't know where this took me, but I know that I just lost myself in it!
Ah, I see we're on more familiar territory this month. And what a lovely choice today. The piece does evoke the wild windy (short) walk through the woods that Nobby and I have just returned from! Cheers, Gail.
Hari OM Oh... the items I have picked this month are all directly provided from YTube itself, so full copyright permitted etc... however, I guess there still might be regional 'ticks'... try pressing through to YT itself, and if it still doesn't play, it may offer you alternatives in the sidebar of the same tune played according to your region... Yxx

ReplyDeleteCheers, Gail.
November has to be one of my favourites - I was born in it. :)
ReplyDeleteIt's super bugging that the video is unavailable to me for some unfathomable reason...
