Menoizikul; Midweek Musicalisms

The next composer off the rank of birthdays for the month is one Gerald Finzi, England, 14th of July. It seems that he was a highly respected choral composer, so it is fitting that we hear one piece of the many on offer if you care to go searching. There are some pieces that are orchestral; however, I admit I did not feel as drawn to them as to the vocal pieces. This was clearly his forte.

  5. Oh my Aunty YAM...I had no idea there was a composition for St. Cecilia's Day. I recall St. Cecilia was the patron saint of music...I think. I do love organ music so very regal it makes you sit up straight to pay attention.
    Hugs (just) Cecilia
