My interest and admiration for the ships of the world have never been hidden from you. It ought to be no surprise, then, to discover that among my collection is a piece of art depicting shipbuilding. At the 2015 open exhibition in Edinburgh, I came across the artist
David Morris. His colour work was quite appealing, but this monochrome etching really caught my eye...
Right up my alley too.xxx

ReplyDeleteI love scenes of fishing boats...have a painting in my living room...my father painted it fdrom a picture for m aunt, and I have it now. Hubby's ancestors in denmark were shipbuilders Rickmer Lines I believe.
ReplyDeleteThat picture had me peering closely, then I realized it was you, almost like a double exposure!
Love the etching and the reflections--your hand, the floral print. It's such a tactile composition--wood, wool, fabric, glass, metal. Nice.
