Rather than post here an item of special interest, I am going to give you
THIS LINK. It will take you to a documentary film (about an hour) by a Scottish videographer, which takes a look at what it is like to live in Finland. There are quite a lot of 'nature things' about it, but also societal and community interest. I am sure that life is life and everyday things happen there just as they do everywhere in the world, but there is a lot that is being done there that many councils and governments could take lessons from!

Nature Friday, focusing on flowers for now... and this week, I bring you the gold!
Beautiful close up 😍
ReplyDeleteThe golden rose is one of the prettiest I've ever seen.
ReplyDeletewhat a wonderful color... we love this rose!!!
ReplyDeleteLooks beautiful
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing the link. Finland is a nation I am quite curious about. I will watch the documentary.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful golden flowers and we will give a look to the video when we have time to spare!
ReplyDeleteI will watch the film on Finland later. It is a country I admire greatly and seems to be filled with people who are content with life. That is probably an overly broad generalization, but it’s one I will stick with.
ReplyDeleteHi Yam - we had the Finnish Ambassador down here to talk to our European Movement members in 2023 ... he was fascinating ... I briefly wrote about him in May 2023. I also read an educative novel about Finland - cannot for the life of me remember what it was. Actually thinking about it I did draft up the Ambassador's notes - because I thought they were so interesting ... to learn about the Finnish take on Russia and how democratically they kept on side ... so I've got them here - must dig them out and read again. Is it a red hot poker, could be a lupin too: I suppose???? Cheers Hilary
