Menokreatikkul; Saturday Stitches

Just a brief teaser post today... I had that week in the Hutch where I had to have something to keep my hands busy. The crochet throw and cotton knit were both still in The Grey, and although there are a couple (or more!) WIPs sitting in the flat awaiting my attention, I had the urge to start something else. 

That's as close as I could get to the true colour of the yarn - which is 100% acrylic DK, 300m to the ball. It is on the thin side of the DK weight range, so I had to up my needle size to match the gauge. At the moment, that pattern trim is a bit gnarly, but I am hopeful that when it gets to blocking time, that will flatten out nicely. It's a lovely pattern to knit... Lorinda. Check it out. I have just gotten past the slight shaping for the waistline, and am now onto the straight stocking stitch stretch up to where splitting for bodice work will happen. 

I can already see that this is a pattern that probably deserves better quality yarn than I am using, but I do tend to make use of the more economical yarns when venturing somewhere new and deciding whether it is worth upping the ante. I am excited to get this one up and done, so that I can select some of the better, natural yarns from my stash to do another! I may be adapting it slightly, as well... watch this space!
