Menonday Art Vibe; Dressups

There are many children who would have great fun dressing up like this in today's kindergartens. The life of the two kids here, though, would not be one they would wish to live, I feel.

  1. True, material comforts don't always bring in happiness!

  2. I like to believe they were fairly normal kids - didn't pose for the picture which was probably painted in style first and their faces added in the brief time either could be made to sit still. They would have fidgeted, played with or tormented the dogs, poked faces at the artist, given out some cheek...normal kids..

  6. I think that if ever we meet, YAM, you and I should get dressed up like that. Think how great we would look. I’ll wear the dress!

  9. Often this period of art will have subjects without any expression. I love how this one shows happy expressive faces.

  14. Children love ostentation. But this seems terribly cumbersome.
