Ugh.... Anyway, bit by bit, I am chipping away at the tasks. In between, I continue to distract myself with viewings, listenings, and yarnings.
I have been watching Person of Interest on Prime... the looming of AI makes this a disturbing, yet riveting watch. Now we also have The Copenhagen Test and The Capture, two shows taking us on a trip into the hi-tech chicanery available to us. On a lighter note, there have been the likes of Great British Menu, Beyond Paradise, and Race Across the World.
Books listened to have been from authors such as L J Ross, Richard Osmond, Stuart MacBride, Marion Todd, Denzil Meyrick, and Alex Pine. I am reaching the 'caught up' stage for most of these now and am on long waiting lists for the next in series (if at all they are yet available).
I did a podcast post recently, but this week, on The Rest Is Politics: Leading, the interview was no less a person than Volodymyr Zelenskyy... and if I tell you it was beyond impressive, trust me - it's fifty minutes of your time well worth spending. The warmth, the charm, the dedication, the logic and strategic-mindedness... the common sense that flowed from him was moving in the extreme. I am going to embed it here - but you may have to go to Spotify for the whole thing (or find it on your own preferred platform).
All the best with your viewings, listenings, and yarnings.
ReplyDeleteWe are into peak migration time, YAM, and I am outside most of the time. I’ll perhaps catch up on Zelenskyy later.
ReplyDeleteOh yummy, new authors to contemplate.
ReplyDeleteMr MacBride has won my heart, I don’t ‘get on’ with Richard Osmond, someone recommended Whiskey in small glasses by Denzil Meyrick….is it good? I’ll have to investigate the other three
When we were living in the UK I remember April as being ‘tax month’. Is it still the same?

Deletethat would be whisky (minus the e - which is Irish), and from, not in. I am nearly half way through it and am enjoying it for the just every so slightly Hamish MacBeth quality, but a tad more gritty (particularly in use of language, which is gratuitous, but does reflect the average Glaswegian...)
The one thing I don't have to think about is tax, as I fall below the threshold, but I do have to deal with other fiscal matters and most of them seem to have landed in this month. hey ho... Yxx
NOT... not gratuitous... although definitely present...
DeleteI am just about to start audio "reading" the Alex Pine series..you aren't the first to recommend it!
ReplyDeleteYAM aunty April has been kinda of an Administrative month for us too. Ready for May to come so we can slow down
ReplyDeleteGood luck sounds like you had a good talk with yourself.
Hugs Cecilia
I sure understand, YAM! We are struggling with all this minutia, while people are facing war, hunger, mental and physical health issues. I do understand. XX
ReplyDeleteHello Yam,
ReplyDeleteI like getting these kind of chores done as soon as I can, then go on to happier times.
I was happy I could renew my car registration online , so that is done early.
I see a few more authors, I have read all of LJ Ross and Osman's. The others I will look to see if they are ebooks.
Take care, have a happy day!
