WYSIWYG

What You See Is What You Get. This is a journal blog, an explore-blog, a bit of this and that blog. Sharing where the mood takes me. Perhaps it will take you too.

Menoodling; Hunkering Down

Well, November has arrived and the gales and wet blatter continue as per usual - but the temps have dropped a couple of notches suddenly. I kinda sorta like this. I can add the extra layers of shawls and blankets, have the side light on, copious cups of tea and listen to the drumming of the hard rain and the bluster of the wind as it buffets the buildings and trees... and start to look towards Advent and the raising of the tree and decorations and going into semi-hibernation.

Mac1 was supposed to be here for a couple of days; that changed on Monday morning when symptoms caused her to test - and it turned out to be COVID. She had been to the big through-vax (by public transport) last Thursday for her fourth jag. So the best that can be said is wishes that the lurgy won't linger long.

I spent the weekend setting up posts on MY TAKE bloggy through to the end of the year. I have also scheduled all the 'themed' posts here, so that I have only to work in between posts a couple of times a week. Doing a focused posting like that enables me to free up time to work the crochet hook. I am determined to get the LynGmal done not just before Christmas, but by the end of this month. Even next week, if I get a move on. I have a feeling I am going to need it at the soonest possible completion! Another layer to add to the coorieing in, the hunkering down, the battening of hatches on the Hutch. Let it be as dark as it likes outside - inside the light shines.

  1. You have been one busy lady! The photoshopping I do for the pets blog takes me some time and I can't seem to get ahead, but I do enjoy it. I am still trying to figure out what to do for the blog Blast for Peace (I keep changing my mind). I picked up my son's car from the autobody shop Tuesday (stopped and took the photo of the old Dukabor barn I posted today). I need to make a run up to the big city to get some "things" that are too big to ship (and for my car) tomorrow and I am keeping my fingers crossed that it does not snow tonight (it is down right cold here this afternoon and we have threatening clouds). Have I told you how much I like your Musical selections your Mandalas? Stay warm, and keep being awesome. Barb

  3. Hi Yam - what you've done ... I wish I'd done! I'm sitting with lots to do ... so must get on with all things. It is tipping it down here so perhaps a day at home, I was meant to be having lunch out. I don't 'needle' or knit ... but I love your 'let it shine' ... it's beautiful. Congratulations on your preparation ... cheers Hilary

  5. love the Mandala. i usualy do a week ahead at once, good idea to do the themes and schedule, I may try that. I don't do well with themes on demand. no idea why, I just don't. truthfully blog for peace makes no sense to me, i just don't see how that helps at all. i just don't get it. it is simple to do a post that says it, but does it change anything?? I think not. maybe you can inspire me.

Actually, I was talking about my own themes... like MenoSundays and Me-now-views... and this year, for the first in a while, I am not specifically joining in Blog 4 Peace... I think my whole blogging ethos is exactly that. If you don't feel inspired by it, then don't worry about it. Yxx

  10. I continue to be amazed at how chilly it is here...It's mostly wind tho, unlike Coastal NorCal(and your corner of the world) where rain usually prevails.

  11. Wishing Mac1 a very speedy recovery. It is going around here again, and we are trying to dodge it. It has been unseasonably warm and hardly feels like November.
