Menoizikul; Midweek Musicalisms

This is the last of the Greek musical Odyssey in October. The three artists featured all knew each other. Demis sang with Nana on her show a few times. But in his earlier career, it was with Vangelis that he shared the stage. They formed the group Aprhodite's Child and are renowned for pressing forward the Progressive Rock movement... "sounding like Pink Floyd before PF!" The compositional genius came from Vangelis, and the iconic sound was from DR.

I saw the souls
I saw the martyrs
I heard them crying
I heard them shouting
They were dressed in white
They'd been told to wait
The sun was black
The moon was red
The stars were falling
The earth was trembling
And then a crowd
Impossible to number
Dressed in white
Carrying palms
Shouted amid
The hotless sun
The lightless moon
The windless earth
The colourless sky
They'll no more suffer from hunger
They'll no more suffer from thirst

I opted for this aetherial piece because, well, it's spooky month! The ode to the ancestors and the video of DR walking among them by the shores of the ancient sea suit Halloween vibes. Do you agree?

  4. the walk among the tombstones is very appropriate for this season, and it is a tad spooking, even the close up of his face. that said, he is a handsome devil.

  8. Terrific shots in your Nature Friday post! I LOVE the micro and macro views and how green everything is (we are still baked yellow from the long hot summer!). We have not had the fall rains like we usually do. And the forests are extremely dry! And the spooky video, it spoke to me! Gotta love it!
Recovery from the leg break will be slow. They added 3 extra weeks of no weight bearing on my left leg because my femur is "soft" from the bone infection (sigh). So it looks like I will be learning how to walk again, travelling to the town 45 kms away when the roads are icy and snowy. The benefit is - I won't be able to shovel the stuff this year (big cheers from me!)
