Having made the adjustments to the collar of the summer jacket for Aitch, she kindly modelled it again so that I could share the completed project with you...
It has been about three months since I announced the Timelines Dupatta project. You may recall it was to be one row per day... that lasted about four weeks, then I started to do all seven 'day rows' on Saturdays. Partly because I didn't always remember to pick up the work, but also it was growing pretty quickly, and daily pickup was a bit of a faff for only 66 stitches! Once a week of seven rows was more satisfying.
The other thing I realised was that sticking to the half double (htr) stitching was going to result in a RIDICULOUSLY long item, so at row 56 I shifted into single (dc) stitching. This tightens the fabric a little, but once the border is on, this should not be obvious. When getting to only 56 rows left to do, I shall return to the half double (htr), for balance. I must say, using the over-sized hook on this mostly DK yarn pieces is resulting in a really squishy, huggy, drapey wrap that I am loving... and the colours! (I may have had a little yarn trawl at the Spotty Bag Shop to add a few more deeper colours to the stash. See that lovely rainbow in the middle?)
The summer jacket looks very stylish on Aitch. I love the colors in the yarn, and the bottom stitching looks very airy and summery. Nice work.
