Menoloopal [men-oh-loo-pal]; the condition of being sent mental

This is not a newbie.  The principle is universal and well known.  But how often do we catch ourselves in the act?

Wastage of food.  Picky and choosiness about food.  Outright misuse of food. Excess of food...

I know you know what I am talking about.  Having recently been reminded of the sponsored famine which takes place globally, as well as only this week studying a text which emphasizes the place of food in society and how it should be handled and respected and shared, I was again made to self assess.  Even one who eats sensibly, nutritionally founded and within limits, has room to improve.

Then - for goodness knows why! - I checked a news site online the other day (a rare 'outing') and what did I find?  News of an internationally infamous chef who makes a business of showing the world how dreadful some kitchens can be.  Finally he'd met his match.

This one was a doozy and now the FBI are involved.

Do we need to see anger and hatred and ego and exhibitionist displays around food?

We are what we eat.  The soul is fed with not just the proteins and minerals of ingestion but also by the eye and the ear.  Such carry-on purporting to be entertainment is a travesty.  It makes me menoloopal.

  1. Be assured that you are also meno-entertaining, which is part of your gift to the world.
