What You See Is What You Get. This is a journal blog, an explore-blog, a bit of this and that blog. Sharing where the mood takes me. Perhaps it will take you too.

Menoxplorer - farewell and not goodbye...

Thus it was that the Sunday morning dawned and 'twas time to depart.  I could feel I did not wish to hurry away, yet also knew I was going to be back, therefore no need to linger. As Gary at reception helped me down the front steps with my luggage, the winter sun broke through the prison of cloud.

I of course recorded the moment for posterity!

Here you just see the end of the disused Victorian pier and look over to the modern, functional but characterless jetty.

I was charmed to discover that the smaller catamaran speed boat is used for the Sunday run.

It's name?  The Ali Cat.

That was one of my nicknames in childhood and youth.

Anyway, the time had come and we drew away. Despite the poor visibility, I found it necessary to look back...

At the Gourock side the train was waiting to take travellers to Glasgow.  There I had to wait an hour for the Edinburgh connection.  That was okay.  People watching is fun enough.  Before I knew it I was walking out of Edinburgh Waverley station to the distant sound of bagpipes playing....  what was that?

Theme of Star Wars???????

Anyhow, that's us back at the beginning where you joined in with the exciting news. Back to day-by-day stuff again...

  1. Oh my goodness, what a send off you got. First the gorgeous morning sun and then a send off by bagpipes. The sun sparking on the water is gorgeous.
