WYSIWYG

What You See Is What You Get. This is a journal blog, an explore-blog, a bit of this and that blog. Sharing where the mood takes me. Perhaps it will take you too.

Me-noo-oot-an'-aboot

This post is behind the usual schedule slot - 'cos of the visitor...

A few of you will know her.  It is MARA of blog WEIGHTY MATTERS (see my blog roll at right).  Yes!!!  The Dutch bus-driving gal from Norway - get over there and read her tales. For now, though, she has traveled, without bus, to this fair land of heather and hills to stay in Dunoon until the weekend.

What is more she brought a car with her... and for today at least, the SUNSHINE!!!(ssshhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh it might hear us...)

Very many photographs taken by both of us.  Here's a handful to whet your appetite.

We drove out of Dunoon and stopped almost immediately;

The temperature was moderate and there was threat of rain (storm-brelly came with!).
At this point I texted my sister, Mac2, who is holidaying locally with Mac3 and the father. Turned out they were headed in much the same direction so we thought to check in at lunchtime and see if we could connect.

We drove round the point of Loch Fyne and into Inverary;

It was a bustling wee place.  Sure enough, the family were there guzzling bacon rolls already.  Intros were made just as the clouds dumped their load.  Mara and I moved on.

...yes I am under the storm brelly by this time (~/) and that is Mara under the hood.  We spotted the place we wanted to lunch over on the right of the street.  It was very fresh and tasty.  Not to mention filling.  By the time we had finished, Sunny was back on track.

We enjoyed the town till 3pm then headed off along the road, thinking about Oban.  We only got 10 mintues out of town before spotting a little village museum setup. Good brakes on that hire car...

We were there till closing.  Then drove back scenically, in SUNSHINE and didn't get back till nearly 8pm.  Hence late posting.

Mara is going to Glasgow on her own tomorrow. I have work to do and will also take time to fill in the details of our most wonderful day with lots more super-pics for the next two posts.

We are both tired, achey, but very pleased and settled after a really lovely day.  One to remember.

  1. Oh what fun, in spite of the rain. Meeting other bloggers is wonderful, Yam, and I've really enjoyed the three times this has happened to me.

  2. The change in the mood of the sky is very picture worthy.

  3. Oh my gosh, the green in that second to last picture is breathtaking!

    Sigh ...the kindle version of Pip's book is still in progress. It's extra complicated because of all the photos - guess Kindles weren't meant to handle photos. I'm not giving up and will keep you posted!
