What You See Is What You Get. This is a journal blog, an explore-blog, a bit of this and that blog. Sharing where the mood takes me. Perhaps it will take you too.

Me-Now-Views; Less Speak More Peek.

As related yesterday, Flat 1/1 was quite the hive of activity over the weekend.

On Friday, Mac1 and the Maestro arrived ahead of the main posse, bringing with them a carload of goodies from the BSFB aka the IKKY SHOPPE.  Friday, though was a day of summer.  A rare occurrence in these here parts.  So after introductions to the stuffie menageries, it was out and about by the waterside for us!

Taking time to smell a rose or two and admiring the view...

On Saturday, the father, Mac2 and Mac3 dripped in...yes you guessed it, Dunoon put on one of her better shower days.  Sigh.  Not that it mattered a great deal, as there was building and banging and drilling and hanging to be done.  It was fraught but fruitful!!!

I can neither drop to my knees nor raise my arms much above shoulder level, so my task was to pass tools and comments as required (which occasionally were not.....). Then it was a case of filling the spaces.

Yes those drawers are full and majority of boxes and cases are finally empty.  The fridge is lifted to a height no longer requiring bending and all immediate needs are to hand on the shelves.  Bliss. Just the hall cupboard/walk-in wardrobe remains to be properly set up. It's getting there.  Emptying those shelves of unopened boxes is like waking from a bad dream; not quite shaken off but the daylight is here!!!

What have you got to share today I wonder?

  1. So important to make the most of those warm sunny days. I once had an Indian colleague who had been brought up in Nairobi. She told me when she first arrived in Aberdeen should could not understand why everyone stopped everything and dashed outdoors as soon as the sun came out. They after she'd been here for a few months, she understood!
    Cheers, Gail.

  3. It's all coming together, isn't it. I remember the push through the last stack of boxes like it was yesterday, and not twenty eight years ago.

  5. So glad you had help with the boxes and bits, and that you now have a fridge you can reach without injury. I know the feeling.
Nice to have a good family visit, too. I'm seeing my family again next month. Can hardly wait.

  12. Same story about the boxes Yam but I feel you had a few more than we did. I do know what you mean about the kneeling, bending and use of arms above the head. You feel so useless at times and are always glad there is help at hand. What would we do without family/friends?
I think the flat is beginning to look really good and look forward to seeing more when it is finally done to your satisfaction.
