Menopuggled Menosukhi Moment...

aaarrrrgghhh- nearly missed one!

It has been a hectic weekend.  Am very unused to having so many folk around and all of them doing this that and the other; short version is that there have been some additions to the flat.  Full report tomorrow with pick-churs of course!

Meanwhile today I have been recovering and also sorting out stuff related to the additions. Which will explain itself when you see that report.

Am barely keeping eyes open; goodness knows about the other folk.  Mac1 and Mac2 busy in one room; Mac3 and me in another and the father flitting around between as works manager.  The Maestro, bless her little cotton socks, sat and listened to a word-book.  It must have been hard for her to be out of the loop for such a long time and with a great deal of banging and crashing going on in the background.

It was overwhelming for myself to have so much going on all at once.  It is a hazard of living alone, I suppose, that when suddenly there are crowds it can be a tad 'threatening' to the psyche.  No matter how close one is to said crowd.

Additionally, despite pretty good communications on the whole, there are moments of talking and cross purposes; as well as having defined ideas about how to approach a given job.  It is not surprising, then, to find moments of tension and outright disagreement. What family can there be which does not face such?  Indeed, any team.  It is normal.

Despite the obvious exhaustion of all concerned by the close of yesterday, there was a sense of work well done, things achieved and one lady resident who is over the moon with the additions.  The are already making a difference to my living arrangements.  It is astounding what an impact two shelves, a grab-bar, a chest of drawers and a bookcase can make...

Today has been me starting the final stage of unpacking.  AT LAST!!  Also getting that kitchen beaten into workable submission.

To my family I am again incredibly grateful.  For weeks I was at a loss which way to turn. In one day, it was them who turned it around!!! Come back tomorrow for the visuals.

  1. Hari Om, Yam! Ugh, my two least-favourite jobs in the world are packing and unpacking. Never liked it, probably never will. But a "pull-bar"? Is that an exercise thing? Sounds strenuous... Indigo x

  2. So sounds like the old days in my home when I would sigh and wish I had so and such. The following weekend my brother or my father, or both, appeared to make it happen. Such a family is a treasure.

  3. It does seem to take forever to actually complete a move doesn't it? The boxes and getting stuff in place can take so much time. And I know exactly what you mean about beating a kitchen into workable submission.

  4. I might just do that (come back for the visuals that is)!
