Since last Wednesday, my visit to Aberdeen and a blogpal has featured. Here are the final few photos from that... these focus on the buildings of a little fishing village in the harbour area, some of the harbour buildings and also of the main street... Aberdeen is known as the Granite City and has some lovely architecture; though it is also the centre for the oil industry here and does also sport some rather dismal structures.
The little village area known as Footdee, or 'Fittie', holds enormous appeal. You can read a bit about it here.
Nestled on the Northern spit of the harbour, it takes not long at all to be down by the main shipping channel and there one can find the original harbour master's building as well as the much larger and imposing new one... I rather like it's off-set symmetry and the reflective panels...
To finish, a glimpse of the city centre, one of the more attractive buildings...
Where have you been this past week?
