Grandma has given is the wonderful ingredients required for some Christmas Goulash... (that's flash fiction with less than 140 characters OR 140 words and bonus word - this week it is GRUMPY). The numbers at the goulash pot have dwindled this year - are there any of you, dear readers, who are inspired to join in???
The carollers stared into the snow with the final note; not one of them felt cold, wet or grumpy, for
the Light of Love filled them.
(133 chrx)
Ding dong merrily on high
(gee that snow is lumpy)
Lift your voices to the sky
(cold feet make me grumpy)
FAALLALALALALALLALALALLAAL ETC…
The Saviour in stable now is born
(aargh snow flake in my eye)
Most bless-ed are we all this morn
(it stings and I could cry)
FAALALALALALAAALALALAALLALAL AND SO ON
Beasts now all proclaim His birth
(please let this be the last song)
The Lord is manifest on Earth
(Forgive me, I was wrong…)
FALALALALALALALALLALALLALAL
PLUS THE REST
We are all His ble-ess-sed kin
(I forgot why I am here)
To your heart let His love in
(…are we done? Where’s the beer?)
FFALALALALFLALLALALALALLALA LET'S GO….
(109 wds)
All jesting aside –
MERRY CHRISTMAS GOULASHERS!!!
A very Merry Christmas to you too.
ReplyDeleteAwesome entries as always. I just howled and sang along to your inspired lyrics.
Thanks for promoting SY and for your entries every week. I also wish we could get more participation. I just love reading and writing flash fiction, so I'll continue to post a photo each week, regardless of our numbers. Who knows? Maybe things will spring back to life in the new year.
That song is such a delight, it makes me want to carol! Happiest of holidays to you, YAM!
ReplyDeleteLOL.....What a wonderful diddy! Great work!
ReplyDeleteThe Writer groups that I (FRANKIE FURTER) and mom used to attend ... all loved doing those Flash Fiction thingys...

ReplyDeleteCrikey ..... you've lost me. I'm off to google flash fiction and as for Grumpy. I thought he was one of the seven dwarfs.
