For those of you who visit only on Tuesdays, it is important to emphasise that living on the unquestionably bonny West coast of Scotland comes at a premium - not $$-ways but in weather. Argyll is the wettest county in the country. The rest of the area isn't much behind. This means that when the sun shines things get a bit 'heady'! On the drive back from Edinburgh last time, THE SUN WAS SHINING.... so I decided to stop and visit Newark Castle. Turned out I was a month too early. So external views only. Decided to make the most of this, 'cuz for certain-sure, the next time I decide to visit, it will be internal viewing weather only!
Back on the road and through Greenock then. Oh my word, I have driven past the famous crane so many times and never stopped to photograph it. I didn't stop this time either. Dodgy, I know, but desire to capture that scene overwhelmed me. Little Ren was pretty much driving herself anyway, she was so enjoying the sparkle...
Then over on the Dunoon side of the water, I made a stop to capture this little old cast iron ...thing... which is slowly rusting away. Think it might have been a water fountain at one stage. It had a date of 1863 on it.

...talking of sparkling... next week the 'views' will have a bit of the glint about them. Why not think about joining in with the theme? Glitter, glitz and spark, spark, sparkle for the last day of March!

DeleteA Nottinghamshire lass eh? This castle's name is simply what the Maxwell family used for the 'new building work' which they were tacking onto the the 'old wark'... I will find out lots more in due course Yxx
Crikey that sure was a nice day, aye?? That little old cast iron thing's pretty. I would have peed on it. I wouldn't stop to take a photo of that crane thing either. It's no Eiffel tower or Sydney harbour bridge, aye?? The views betta be good because the view of the crane is pretty crook. You got a great shot from the little red Ren though. Dodgy indeed!!!!!!! Mum said to tell you Fudge is doin' a great job!!! Hmmmmmmmmmph!!
