What You See Is What You Get. This is a journal blog, an explore-blog, a bit of this and that blog. Sharing where the mood takes me. Perhaps it will take you too.

Menolyrical; Words for Words' Sake

A break from photographs.  Well apart from the prompt for this ditty...

Once upon a time...

Once,
a time on up
a tree lived me.
High, high, high
it was, then,
the storm before.

Now,
shreds to shorn
I am,
and tumbled,
distant from trunk-home
and safetree.

Care I?
Jot a knot!
Freedom is there
to dance
and curl
then on and on,

to merge
grass with,
to mud
sink in,
to petrify;
feeding the Greater I.

A slight re-ordering of one of the 'recycles'...

  1. Very nice - I can't write "short form" stuff at all - everything takes too long to say in my head, and that shows on paper (or screen!)

Arizona was a great place - but I think I was troubled by the speed and "consumption" of the place - "This way for the best view" kind of thing. A slower pace my have helped - but I'm not sure that would have taken away the feeling that things were being forced onto a landscape so that people could claim ownership. Who knows.
