Menorise [men-oh-rIse]; the process of inculcation

The poem deserves a full airing...





























Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;

Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim
Because it was grassy and wanted wear,
Though as for that the passing there
Had worn them really about the same,

And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way
I doubted if I should ever come back.

I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I,
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.

  3. Mom loves this poem. When she was in college she took a poetry class and had to memorize a poem and she picked Robert Frosts "Stopping By the Woods On A Snowy Evening" (she liked it and it was short). The professor said everyone had to memorize 1 poem cuz it would impress their friends. Then shortly after that class she was at an ice cream shop owned by friends. She was sitting at the counter eating ice cream and one friend picked up some tongs and asked "Whose tongs are these" and it made mom recite the poem. When she finished, her friend's exact words were, "Wow, I'm impressed." Her professor was right!

      It is definitely one the poems never forgot - if not entirely memorised! The Snowy Evening one is also great..... FROST was great!!! ...and I took the one less travelled...Yxx

  5. Oh girl you just gots my mum all blubberin' nows. Her just loves dat poem to pieces. Her says it be all kinds of inspirational and motivation' and blah, blah. And then I be like "Woman. gets my food nows!" But her rolled her eyeballs at me.
