Many (many) years past I came across a cassette which I bought purely based upon the fact that it featured the voice of Leonard Nimoy. That and it had a lovely picture of a whale on the insert. I had not heard it but trusted that if LN approved enough to feature on it, then it was good enough for me.
I quite literally wore the cassette out. It finally stopped playing after about run #87, having wound itself into some kind of Moebius Monster round the player's spindles and got sucked into the innards of the machine ... not pretty. By that time of course, one could no longer purchase cassettes (not if you had any sense of decorum anyway) and the players were also past their time. I searched now and then in the hope of replacing that recording. It never happened. Other things took precedence. It came to mind again from time to time, but no serious effort made. Recently, with the demise of LN, I thought of the much loved, long gone cassette. Ding-dong YAM.... check the tubular.....

Oh be still my beating heart............ Now, this being first Sunday of the month I usually provide you with a much longer, full length offering. The recordings are all there from the album, however they were all in separate vids. That would look a bit silly here. So what I have done is draw them together as a play list on my channel.
YAM's "Whales Alive" Playlist...
There are two bonus tracks not from this album on that list. I do hope you will take the chance to listen to the whole thing. Take time to sigh...
Shanti shanti shanti.
..and don't forget our invitation to Blogville!
That is an interesting music selection:)

Delete....and that is the first time I have done a playlist thing - hadn't realised that it would automatically continue along the list!!! Rather clever, now that I know.....
Hope you are all swimming peacefully through your weekend! Yxx
I always get tears in my eyes when I listen to the whales... there are so much things in our oceans we haven't dicovered (and destroyed) by now...

Love this, what a great soundtrack!! One of my "bucket list" items is to hear and/or see whales while scuba diving! Love around minute six when the whales are joined by (what sounds like) a saxaphone!
ReplyDeleteI've sung this with my choir on stage! It was very exciting. I was pregnant and the size of a whale! BTW my son's wife is having a baby any moment! hugs, thanks for the wonderful memory!
