WYSIWYG

What You See Is What You Get. This is a journal blog, an explore-blog, a bit of this and that blog. Sharing where the mood takes me. Perhaps it will take you too.

Menoxtra; a little bit on the side

It's time to make Goulash with Grandma again! (Micro-fiction fun...why don't you give it a go?) Use the picture prompt she provides to create simple, shortest of short, stories to tell its tale - kudos gained for using the weekly bonus word. Today that is DABBLE

 SY_Jul05

Hanna ran towards the flashes. Her mother was not going to be at all pleased; how many times had she asked father not to dabble with the sherbet and the baking soda?

Crickle crackle sprickle sparkle
Childrens’ eyes alight with glee
As the fireworks light the night
With phosphorescent energy

Ristle rustle hissy spittle
Up they go with bright gabble
As the fireworks light the night
Children warned ‘do not dabble!’

Drissle drossle prickly pokel
Like stars they reach up for the sky
As the fireworks light the night
Children share fourth of July.

Muckle muddle couthy cuddle
Their long day draws to an end
As the fireworks light the night
Childr'n to home wearily wend

  2. Your onomatopoeic poetry really gave me a much-needed, Monday morning smile! And since I've never heard what sherbet and baking soda do, this makes me want to go dabble with them. Sort of. But I'd be scared.
