This week's Advent candle is lit in the name of JOY.
We read or speak the word and have a general sense of what it means. For most, they might otherwise say 'happiness'. This would be appropriate. Who could not be happy at the promise of hope from the arrival of a great Master and Teacher; such a one as may be able to guide us, in a manner we cannot ourselves, to restore our natural balance of peace?
Joy is uplift. Joy is pleasure. Joy is festivity. Joy is bliss. Joy is gladness. Joy is relief of the heart from its aches. Joy wants to be - must be - shared. In its sharing, it is multiplied. Joy spreads... It is its own message.
May you too be filled with joy this festive season.

ReplyDeleteyes, joy is the only thing what becomes more and bigger when we share it :o)
ReplyDeleteAnd the world needs more joy just as much as we need to learn how to more fully recognize, appreciate and grow it!
