WYSIWYG

What You See Is What You Get. This is a journal blog, an explore-blog, a bit of this and that blog. Sharing where the mood takes me. Perhaps it will take you too.

Menologue; The OZ Venture

The flight from Sydney to Coolangatta was the expected 1 hour 20 minutes duration. At the QLD end, was met by Trish. She and her husband are ex-neigbours and friends of some lengthy standing. I was to spend three nights with them at their unit in Burleigh Heads - the Southern-most suburb of the Gold Coast. I was expecting a certain level of true 'holiday' feel. Was blown away by the vista which greeted me.

Want a closer look???

Yup. Their second floor unit has this incredible North-facing view, and as the building is up on the Head itself, is like a 10th storey effect! It is a simple two-bedroom unit, but very comfy and is close to shops and beach. The arvo was spent yakking with Trish till we had to go and pick Neil up from work... an enormous storm had come over so he couldn't walk home. Yup, it got cold and wet.....

On Friday morning, more relaxing time with Trish until she had to go to do her volunteer service work at her church. It is a small catholic church, which is a rebuild, under neath an array of retirement units. Blink and you'd miss it! The construction is low and subtle, clean and humble.

The work assigned to me was the polishing of all the wooden pews, altar, wall-tops and banisters... that absorbed me for an hour! What a delight to be able to do some seva in this wonderful, circular place of devotion and worship.

After locking up again, Trish took me to the North end of the Burleigh Beach; a welcome milkshake at the surf club afforded time to absorb the windsurfers and enjoy the burst of late arvo sunshine...before it again deteriorated into cold and wet.

I kid you not. It went from this bright and arctic breeze blowy idyll to another wild and woolly night... and it stayed.

As you will see on Monday.

Such a tease, YAM.

The twin tower blocks at the end? The right one is the block
in which T and N's unit sits.
