What You See Is What You Get. This is a journal blog, an explore-blog, a bit of this and that blog. Sharing where the mood takes me. Perhaps it will take you too.

Menologue; The OZ Venture

My time at Noosa had been shortened by two days due to a combo of the illness and other appointments... but golly did the time I have get used well! Having arrived at Meena's just after lunch, we had a light snack then she drove me down to the Main Beach, just behind the town's main street. Prepare yourselves... QLD did what it has always promised. Beautiful one day, sunny the next..........

This beautiful plant is very striking in its architectural stance.

Alcantarea Imperialis.

The flowers were ending, but still managed an okay macro....

The sand was of that type which is silky and sucky and very difficult to walk on if you're a waddler like the YAMster. However, the council has very kindly put in a boardwalk at the back of the beach. We sauntered along that in the later arvo warmth... oh it was wonderful........

As we walked back via the main street - all shops of the type which requires crocodile wallets - this large and cheerful chappy jumped down in front of us.

Hard to tell from this, but it was as long as my thumb.... three to three and a half inches.

We drove back to get washed up and eat our evening meal. Outside Meena's place, her neighbour was out walking her dog, Molly.

Here's Molly...

Meena mentioned to Molly's mum that the YAMster was hoping to connect with another doggy in the area, by the name of Charlie.  "Oh", came the response, "We know Charlie and his mum ... they live just round the corner!"

You could have blown me over with a hand fan.

I had spoken with Charlie's mum, Lynn, on the telephone from Sydney, briefly, with anticipation of connecting, but had not yet finalised or obtained an address. That they were so close by was tantalising! As Meena prepared our dinner, I called Lynn and we arranged for her to collect me at 6am the next morning...

After dark, Meena drove me again to main street to see the Christmas lights; difficult shooting from a moving vehicle, but some interesting effects nonetheless.

The 'fruit' on the central tree changed colour from white, to red, to blue, to green, to purple...

Was up bright and early and ready for the next day... come back Monday for all that news!
