What You See Is What You Get. This is a journal blog, an explore-blog, a bit of this and that blog. Sharing where the mood takes me. Perhaps it will take you too.

Menotripsical; BAR and Beyond - Nati Farewells

No menokakkuls for you this week, so much still to share from the big Americas Adventure!

June 15th - a marvellous morning

After brekky, Janet and I went and collected Lee and we set off to drive past a couple more sights on our way to O'Bryonville and the Bon Bonerie Cafe. First, I had to say my farewells to Sweet William The Scot...

...Doesn't he have just the cutest smile?! The Fudge was surprisingly silent after this. Mainly because I just wanted to savour being with my delightful hosts and was, anyway, too busy devouring the goodies! The following photo is, therefore, courtesy of Lee...

...and you better believe we got through a significant portion of these three layers!!! What was left was put neatly into little pastry boxes, to be savoured a second time at a later point.

The ladies both chose to drink "Silver Needles" tea, whilst I opted for the "Bengal Tiger Chai" (named for the local football team). The hot-water top-ups kept coming and enough tea got drunk to fill the Ohio River!

This was actually an afternoon tea, but Lee had gained 'special dispensation' for us to receive the full deal before noon.

Dee-lish-us!!!!!!!

Before we knew it, time had come to head for the Greyhound Terminal and check in for my bus headed North and East to Cleveland. Janet made sure the necessary folks were alerted to my being on a cane and needing a wee bit help getting aboard. Then came the hurried hugs and fond farewells - and I realised my time here had been far too short.

Cincinnati is a fine, fine city and I surely would like to have explored it more; but that said, I could never have seen nearly as much as I did were it not for Lee (navigator) and Janet (pilot), to whom I am profoundly grateful. Their hospitality knew no bounds and their warm welcome and hugs will be treasured always.

The bus trip was straightforard and uneventful - unless you count the lady blocking the driveway at the Cleveland Terminal. Driver Alan had to toot the horn and wave his arms about a bit.  I didn't let on to him that it was my 'taxi' for the next part of my trip!!!

  9. We do love the BonBonerie teas. The first time we had a tea was during Tall Stacks when all the paddlewheel boats come to Nati. They did a tea party on a small paddlewheel boat on the Ohio River ~ what fun that was. We enjoyed so much meeting you and were sad our time together was just days. Thanks for choosing Nati City as a destination.
    Thanks for being a friend
