What You See Is What You Get. This is a journal blog, an explore-blog, a bit of this and that blog. Sharing where the mood takes me. Perhaps it will take you too.

Menotripsical No More - Thus Some Menosukhi

...and there it was over - and it has taken twice the time of the actual travel to recap it here!!!

Thank you to all who stopped by and 'travelled' with me and especially to those who joined in with comments. You'll recall at the beginning there was mention of 1800 images. A fair few went straight to bin, and another bunch have made it there during the course of further sorting. A lot are repeats and angles of the same subject, of interest only to myself; and of the truly worthy frames, still less have made it to these pages. Therefore, as much as you might have become dazed and befuddled with the array on show, it was but a fraction of the whole! Thank you again for the forbearance. Looking through another's holiday shots is not always a joy...but, naturally, there are some 'tail-enders' and they will turn up here tomorrow.

More than that, though, I would again like to thank all my wonderful blogpals who accommodated me, chauffeured me, fed me and entertained me as I progressed along the big trip. It was a true joy to meet everyone in 'the furs' and to find that ether connections can translate very well to reality. Bless you all!

Whilst reliving all this amazing time overseas, there were the Pawlympics and the Olympics to keep up with also. (I know, they have been over for a week now, but had a lot of zzzzzs to catch up with!)

OMD(ogs) OMC(ats) OMP(eople)... the events were spectacular, the pa(w)rticipation outstanding. There were highs and there were lows and there were dramas and there were moments of sheer triumph. The Ps review has been done by the organisers, so will leave that in their capable paws. There are likely to be many, more qualified, folk who have reviewed the Os; I have to say though, as a major member of the Spectator Sports Body, that all the sleep-deprivation was worth it!

A confession; am not that keen on the track and field events, so did tail off the viewing a bit; until then I had the telly, Voovoo the Vaio AND the YAMroid all working as I tried to keep up with everything!!!

During all this, I had a return visit from Mlle CG, only this time she came on Desiree. That's the motorbike. They've been together for 30 years now. Mlle GC toured the world on Desiree; over to South America (Ecuador, Chile, Peru), across the Pacific to NZ and then OZ... at which point she was guided to me through a mutual connection and spent three months as my housemate in Sydney. From there, she went on up through SE Asia and greater Europe then home to France.  CG lived and worked in Edinburgh for several years so likes to return to Scotland from Brittany every couple of years or so. This trip was about celebrating the 30 year anniversary with Desiree and so a much longer and winding route was planned out. It included a couple of nights at the YAMster hutch.

More about that on Thursday!

...look at that; a whole post without a piccie in it! Image result for smiley emoji

pee ess... PSA for all the dogs out there... Check this out!!!

  1. Hi Yam
I had great fun reading all your posts and looking at your ever wonderful photos of BAR and beyond, especially as many of the places you visited in the USA and Canada were of the 'road less travelled' variety.
Having watched far too much cycling on the telly lately - Tour de France in July followed by the Olympics in August (even the track cycling gripped me this time around), I am now settling down to more reading and less goggle-boxing of an evening.
    Cheers! Gail.

  2. It was like we didn't have to say goodbye to BAR as long as there was someone who was posting about it. And of course since you were the last one to get home we got to enjoy it all over as well as the adventures you had afterwards. I suppose our vacation kept us away from the Pawlympics a bit and now we need to think about resettling back in to our familiar place. Only this time we have seen the others in the furs!

  3. YaYa it was a pleasure, real a pleasure, to meet you at the BAR....you were exactly as we expected. Bcat and I enjoyed every single photo and commentary.

This post reminded me of the time my brother in law went to Egypt....way back in the mid 80's. He came home with at least 1800 not really but it seemed like the night he came over to show them to us one at a time...with commentary on each. No digital back then and he was a professor he liked to teach. It took over 3 hours. LOL....

So let me just say viewing all of yours was indeed a pleasure!! Technology is a gift.
Hugs HiC and Bcat and madi too
