MenoSpooksteroonies Menolyrical

Kay departed yesterday. I am using today to process all the piccies and set up posts about our time together. Last evening was Deepavalli/Diwali - the Hindu festival of Lights. I lit many candles and sat with just those glowing for the evening. It was soothing.

This being Halloween, the essence of letting all the 'old spirit' loosen and fall away in order to awaken next morning with light in our hearts and a readiness to face life anew is the same as that found in Diwali celebrations.

Not that you'd know it, what with all that nonsense about playing tricks as a method of extorting of junk foods from all and sundry.

Yes, the YAMster is a bit of an old witch about such matters!

Light your jackolanterns
Let the spirits dance
Know the saints await you
Behind dawn they look askance
Wave the spooky banners
knock on doors of chance
Shake those bones and rattle
As all round the town you prance
A-wriggle and a-giggle
Now you know my stance
Tugging closed the curtains
Through them darkly I will glance

Off to bed with you!

So many religions and cultures celebrate festivals of light at this time of year! I love it. We have had a big buck hanging about. JB's back is better, and he managed to get into town today. He's such a wreck!
