What You See Is What You Get. This is a journal blog, an explore-blog, a bit of this and that blog. Sharing where the mood takes me. Perhaps it will take you too.

Menomorial; Easy Rider

Our good pal Easy the Weimaraner has departed.

In every community there are one or two individuals who stand out, who are known to more than most and who involve themselves fully in that community. Easy (and his 'staff') count among such illumni. There will be few in Blogville who do not share the mourning today.

We all handle loss in our own, unique way. No one can ever truly feel or understand what another feels, for there is more than the simple separation. There is all the history with that connection; there is all the history of other connections which somehow come to the fore at such times; there is the personal history, which forms how we cope... so many factors make every person's feelings entirely their own.

All we can do is feel again our own losses, when sharing another's. What we can never do is take the pain away. Neither should we - for each experience, eventually, will add to the treasure of our personality.

Blogville is the poorer for the loss our amazing, crazy, cool-dude; but I am sure that his Angel Self will be keeping tabs on us all and we must be grateful for the time we were able to share with him thanks to the generosity and creativity of his 'pawrents', Mark and Katherine. To them let us hold out our ether arms and sit with them a while. As long as it takes.

YAM xx

  3. Oh Aunty Yam, your words are so touching. you are right - we feel again our own losses as Easy's unexpected illness and passing brings back to us our loss of our Sweet Greta. When our old ones leave we mourn but feel comforted by the long life they lived. When we we lose a loved one so suddenly the pain can be almost unbearable. Yes we will sit with Easy's pawrents - holding them close in our hearts - for as long as it takes
