  1. Now THAT is a HARD question. We don't think we can answer it.

  2. That is a very thought provoking question....stuff doesn't make the person...what is inside the person does...and for sure we know you have a great big heart!

  3. As of this week, a memorial stone for Philip Larkin is now in Westminster Abbey, and on it are words from his poem 'An Arundel Tomb'(a favourite of mine). They maybe provide an answer to Erich Fromm's question above.

  4. I think that the answer is that I am not what I have - I am something else, but I am still trying to figure out what that is!

    I love that quote.

That's it! Madi and Cecilia got an aspect of it, Bertie and Gail's take was aprt and meaningful ... but you have grasped the nettle, as it were!!! I had this question in my psyche since schooldays. It took till my forties to discover Vedanta. It answers this question - but so does most philosophy, if we utilise it properly. Which is why we need teachers within the traditions. The Western tendency to go off on 'self-help' and 'self-discovery' can only take us to a point.

Thank you for dropping by - and the engagement with subject! YAM xx

  5. There probably is more than one Lac St. Pierre in Quebec. If you Google map St. Pierre de Wakefield, that is the closest town to us and that is our lake! Let me know if it helps.
