Maybe it's the fact that it's more winter than autumn now, or just that lots of things come together and cause a 'menowhirl'. Writing is cathartic, anyone who has properly tried it will know this. So there have been one or two menosukhi moments during the Wrimo efforts. Nothing flattening, but interesting, if one is objective.
Then there is UK's Remembrance Day, which conveniently falls on the weekend. You all know me as a pacifist, but that does not at all mean that I don't appreciate and understand the need for our service men and women. I have a particular affinity for veterans of campaigns (my cousin is a serious PTSD victim of 'Desert Storm') and have had the great privilege to care for some WW2 retired servicemen and listened to their stories.
Then there is today itself. Today would have been the Maestro's 26th birthday. She was passionate for her music, as regular readers here will recall. She left her mark in that area of art and now, with Mac1's coordination, a group of her peers are gathering to raise funds for two of her favourite charities. I have been invited to be the 'official photographer'. Whether or not I will be a success at this remains to be seen. I'll let you know.
Tomorrow, Mac's 1 and 2 are going to be running the Supernova.
Again, long-term readers may recall my ending up in the midst of that all-un-awitterly last year!
I'll be cheering them on.

I'm confident your photos of the music event will be of the high standard required. And best of luck to Macs 1+2 for their run tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteCheers, Gail.
Oh YaYa you will be the perfect photographer for the gathering....1) you have an excellent eye 2) it is near and dear to your heart.
ReplyDeleteVeteran's Day is this weekend here so we will all be remembering.

If what we see here are anything at all like what you get at the event, we have no doubt they will be spectacular. Enjoy.
ReplyDeleteThe best to one and all.

agree - writing is surely cathartic :)
ReplyDeleteoh how great that you are the one who makes this event immortal with taking photos ;o)
ReplyDeleteI know you will be good at the photos. And I hope you (all) will collect lots of money for the charities.
ReplyDeleteAs for the writing: I applaud you. I find it okay enough to write a blog with an occasional story that might not entirely be true, but writing that many words is awe-inspiring to me!
Hello, I wish I had a way with words. You are one of the lucky talented writers. I am sure the photos will be great too. Happy Friday, enjoy your weekend!
ReplyDeleteI hope all goes well! hard to believe it's been all this time.
