What You See Is What You Get. This is a journal blog, an explore-blog, a bit of this and that blog. Sharing where the mood takes me. Perhaps it will take you too.

Menover-under-round-and-back

[Deep breaths YAM...] ... I apologise in advance for the disjointed nature of this post.

Have been so 'head down tail up' with the writing, that the approach of Christmas is hitting like a steam train. Am having real difficulty turning my mind to it. To help things along, Marv very kindly marvelled up my 'bauble' and have played around with a piccie that I took on Friday arvo - yes it snowed here; at least on top of the hills. Thus, a week ahead of first Advent Sunday, I got the bloggy decorated. The Hutch doesn't get dressed till then.

Have been tinkering a wee bit more in the background (newcomers can now see the stories of my pets by clicking the J's piccie on left sidebar) and a few more changes are on the way. Stay alert.

Thank you to the five folk who entered the FFF story prompt; particular thanks to Marv and Madi for also helping to 'advertise'. When I set the challenge, being not there, I kinda furgot that it was Thanksgiving for our American pals, so majority had other things on their minds. That's fine. It was just the beginning... yes, there will be more prompts! Watch out for full details coming on the December FFF post.

Now, I had said there would be a badge for the best story, but I gotta tell you, they were all special in their own way AND most were first attempts, so I am going to award them ALL a badge for taking part,.. (hey, it's my party, the rules are fur me to break!).

If you are reading this, and DIDN'T go and read theirs, go check 'em out;
Marvelous Marv  -  this is a wonderful, tale of adventure and good neighbours.
Madi and Mom  -  social mayhem as only Madi can provide
Beth - mum of the DB pupsters  -  a sublimely told tale of loss and recovery
Monsieur Da Phenny  -  Kaptain Khaos Kraks us up again
Bertie Boffin - anxious moments of bonding and developing love

On the other side of life, the last weekend of November is my 'deep clean' time. There's spring and then there's festive season. It has to be done. Not all at once. I began with my own bedroom. You remember the adapted boxroom? It was quite the saga finding a cot-size bed for the only six-feet of space.

On Friday evening though, I began the deep clean, which means moving all the furniture, and I found myself moving more than planned. In fact, I undid the bed and rebuilt it in totally a different direction. It means it is shortened - even for me it might be a bit too petite; will give it a couple of nights to see how I go. However, am liking the change. For now.

Just the rest of the Hutch to go. Still scribbling for the NaNo... Oh. Did I mention Christmas is coming???  (Does this look a tad too much like barbed wire to you? Maybe says something about my feelings on the matter. ) 😩

  1. Stop . . . inhale . . . exhale . . . repeat . . . Christmas is coming but NOT YET! There is still plenty of time! I need to get some deep cleaning done too. About the only tradition I have is that the house must be deep cleaned before the tree goes up. BUT this year it occurred to me that the world will not end if I break that rule lol! I guess we were on a break when the FFF came on as that is something we would typically do but didn't catch on to it until the end. So we will stay tuned!

  2. Mommy has a quote on the wall - it says "Patience is the calm acceptance that things can happen in a different order than the one you had in mind" (D.G. Allen)
    This time of year always reminds her that! And thank you for the badge (we have it in our footer along with our permanent badges) and for the shout out!

  5. Hello, a little bit of snow looks pretty. Even though I am not a winter person. I did most of our cleaning before our Thanksgiving. I like your Merry Christmas image. Happy Monday, enjoy your new week ahead!
