Having a slightly scrappy start to the year, blog-ways. It's the having to post ahead of time and the travelling around the Bonny Land. Having been in Edinburgh this week, am about to head North and East, to be with Bertie and his Gail for a long weekend.
I am actually preparing this on Christmas day. Which is why you are about to see these...
The day went pretty much as planned.
Aitch sent me the tea towel and socks; Mac1 gave the 'soft handle' crochet hooks and metallic pencils (and one of her hand-made tree decorations). The frame was from neighbour M. I treated myself to the pile of puzzle books! I am guessing none of my regular readers will be in the least bit surprised that my puzzle obsession doesn't stop with jigsaws! Wordsearch, crosswords (cryptic and other), codewords, logic puzzles... yup, one of the best sedatives a menosomniac can have!!! The small ones are very handy for the bag when pootling around the country in L'il Ren.
Now I am hoping that there will be some fresh and fun images and tales to tell when I get back from my visit to the boffin. If so, that will start next Tuesday. If not...
...stop there YAM, you're writing yourself into a hole...
Oh yes, the food; sundried tomato nut roast, roast sweet potato, roast regular potato, roast red capsicum and a sauce of yellow capsicum and pumpkin. yyyyuuuummmmmmmm ...

You are making Mom drool with that plate of food:) Nice pressies. Mom was working on a 2,000 piece jigsaw puzzle. When she wasn't looking, somePups devoured about four inches of the bottom edge:( So much for that puzzle.
ReplyDeleteWe are very much in need of a new header. Christmas just didn't seem to work, and now silly Mom has our fall header up. Our "designer" Ms. Ann is on vacation for the month!!! We may have to come up with a better idea.

Hello, the food looks delicious. Lovely gifts too. Enjoy your trip!
ReplyDeleteI love word search puzzles too. I have several books and our Sunday paper always has one in it. I used to love jigsaw puzzles until I became a crazy cat lady. Kinda hard to keep all the pieces where they belong.

PS your plate of food makes my mouth water.
Have a pawsome trip!
ReplyDeleteI like a lot of puzzles too! Safe travels. Can't wait to hear about them!
ReplyDeleteMom has been working some crossword puzzles to help calm her mind

ooooh I would love to have lunch or dinner with you ;O)))
ReplyDeleteWe looked up a recipe for Sun-Dried Tomato Nut Roast sounds simple in a loaf pan we might try that. Love roasted red peppers but roast red capsicum sound HOT! The ornament with the chapel fold is pretty. I am sure you will have a great time with Gail and Bertie.
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year

Your dinner looks absolutely delicious. No doubt you'll have a terrific time with Gail and Bertie! I'm looking forward to the photos and stories.
ReplyDeleteMy sister got addicted to those jigsaws! She would play and play and play. Good thing she doesn't have a proper computer like I do!! I manage to keep myself to one or two. At the highest setting. As for regular jigsaws: cat and jigsaw pieces don't really go together.
ReplyDeleteHope you are having a great time with your friends. Just one word of advice: don't delve into those puzzle books while driving. You might loose your licence. Like the girl who only just got her licence and while out driving couldn't wait to start knitting. Now she has enough time to knit, since she has to take the bus again!!
That looks like a fabulous time was had by you!!!
ReplyDeleteFood, puzzles, wonderful gifts... the only thing I would add is Marv!
Love Barb
Looks like a nice holiday for you.
ReplyDeleteThe food looks absolutely delicious. You have just about all of my favourite items on one plate!
