Having arrived late morning, and having had a little wander around the harbour and main street with Macs 1 and 2, we piled into Mac1's car to go to the cottage. A very steep hill which would have taken me the rest of the day had I had to walk it. Greetings were made to the father and the brother, Mac3, whose birthday it was. Gifts were given and lunch laid out. I had made and brought with me two different bean dips and chapattis plus some crudites. The rest was put together by them. We ate on the patio - in the S.U.N. Who needs the Mediterranean?!

You only turn 50 once. |

The cap was part of my gift - there was a glass, etched with 50, and a pen in a presentation box... etched with 50. Can't have him forgetting he's catching up on his sisters, can we?! |

Honestly, does that not look like somewhere in Italy to you??? When the Bonny Land turns on the weather, it just can't be beaten!!! |
|
Another reminder... only there was enough breeze to prevent candle burning. |

You were promised a view out from that bay window. Yes, that's the Isle of Cumbrae plying the route to Portavadie. It's an hourly service in the summer. We saw lots of different watercraft - but none of the big commercial stuff the Hutch watches over.
Is it over yet? No - the long bright evenings meant I could go and visit the castle and grounds. See ya Monday! |
Oh that looks such a perfect birthday party. As you say, hard to beat Scotland in the sun.
ReplyDeleteI've often wished I was born in the summer - outdoor celebrations not really an option for those of us with November birthdays!
Cheers, Gail.

Happy birthday to Mac 3! My sister today enrolled in Medicare because she will be 65 soon. Wow. To be sixty five again. Fifty would be a stretch, though. Happy birthday again, on such a beautiful day.
