Music, it has been said, may soothe the savage breast. Or heart. Or soul... you catch my drift. Last week we had words of peace. Today, something very different. I am a fan of Indian Carnatic music and was looking for something there when - as happens in the ether - this peculiar item appeared. Here is a one-man orchestra using instruments mostly based on drums. When his voice comes in, lo and behold, it is Carnatic rhythm and scale! The fellow is Italian born and bred and I could find very little beyond that. I found this mesmerising... how say you?
Oh my word...yes mesmerizing it is. I've never seen heard a drum like the round one in his lap. I guess it is some type of acoustic. He truly has a beat in his soul

Wow, that is so cool. Very interesting sounds coming from those very interesting instruments. It sure made us perk up our ears. Mom enjoyed it a lot too.

I love that "drum" - the round one. I've never heard anything like it before now. Mesmerizing is the perfect word.
ReplyDeleteI looked up the instrument, the round one and it is a handpan, a percussion instrument it says, definitely different and one I have never seen or heard of..
