Menoctoberish - a month of festivals

First of Navratri is Shailputri puja. Second is Brahmacharini-bhava. Who do we celebrate on the third day/night (tritiya)?...
Sri Chandraghanta.

Now married to Shri Shiva, Shakti transforms herself into a warrior whilst bringing about in Shiva a genteel and softer self.

Riding the tiger of dharma (correct living) comes with the responsibility to make tough decisions. It can sometimes mean being cruel to be kind. Devi Chandraghanta brings justice and discipline. To worship her is to ask for worries to be dispelled and courage to rise - to discover our inner warrior in tackling the battles of life.

Wearing red - the colour of action and anger, this figure represents our teens and twenties as we fight to establish our personalities and position in society.

  1. YaYa you know how I feel about red...I never feel anger though but that is ok. I do certainly think Red is 100% my personality.

  2. Being cruel to be kind sounds a bit like tough love - not the easiest to do, but often the best way.
