What You See Is What You Get. This is a journal blog, an explore-blog, a bit of this and that blog. Sharing where the mood takes me. Perhaps it will take you too.

Menotalid; it was Adelaide (pt3)

Thursday dawned and it was ANZAC day. We observed the morning service before again piling into the car and this time heading beachwards. First there was the sand-sculpture installation plus some murals at Port Adelaide and then on to Sophomore beach for picnic lunch followed by a run down to Brighton Beach and a walk on the pier.

Am going to save the mural images for a separate post later. The sculptures are self explanatory really, but you should know that it is the work of several artists and not just the one man you see working in one of these shots! It was held in the historic Hart's Mill (flour).

We took the scenic route back to Urrbrae (Sally is new in town, scenic routes are plentiful) and had time for a cuppa before heading out again. M&M had invited us for dinner. Marion is a lovely cook and had taken care to prepare items which were sattvic for me and light but fish-based for the others. Though everyone enjoyed the dahl! It was a fine evening, though I admit to being rather tired after a full day oot and aboot. We were in bed by 9:30pm!

  5. Mom longs to go to the beach. She spent half of her life within a couple hours' drive to the shore. Those sand sculptures are like nothing she has ever seen before - just incredible.
