Thursday dawned and it was ANZAC day. We observed the morning service before again piling into the car and this time heading beachwards. First there was the sand-sculpture installation plus some murals at Port Adelaide and then on to Sophomore beach for picnic lunch followed by a run down to Brighton Beach and a walk on the pier.
Am going to save the mural images for a separate post later. The sculptures are self explanatory really, but you should know that it is the work of several artists and not just the one man you see working in one of these shots! It was held in the historic Hart's Mill (flour).
We took the scenic route back to Urrbrae (Sally is new in town, scenic routes are plentiful) and had time for a cuppa before heading out again. M&M had invited us for dinner. Marion is a lovely cook and had taken care to prepare items which were sattvic for me and light but fish-based for the others. Though everyone enjoyed the dahl! It was a fine evening, though I admit to being rather tired after a full day oot and aboot. We were in bed by 9:30pm!

ReplyDeleteSoffee looks very at home on the beach.
Wow...just wow! From the sand sculptures to the last sky pictures...This corner of Australia sure is gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteThe sand sculptures are fabulous! And I love the picture of your little pal resting at the beach. In fact, I'm really enjoying all your Australia pictures.
ReplyDeleteMom longs to go to the beach. She spent half of her life within a couple hours' drive to the shore. Those sand sculptures are like nothing she has ever seen before - just incredible.

Great Shots! Mom says she is going to have to get over to Vancouver Island and see the competition there later this year! She loves sand sculptures! This year it is at Parksville and Qualicum between July 12 - August 18, 2019!
