WYSIWYG

What You See Is What You Get. This is a journal blog, an explore-blog, a bit of this and that blog. Sharing where the mood takes me. Perhaps it will take you too.

Menorapple - A Bit of Drivel

For those who are keen on stretching their writing-selves, a reminder that next week is Final Friday Fiction time. Also, that it is no longer a link-party, per se, but more of coming together to demonstrate creativity. Check out the FFF Rulez page above for what this means.

Yes, it takes a bit of time to prepare something different from the usual. It's worth the effort though, don't you think? Stepping outside the comfort zone, for some. Writing in a different style for others. Freeing, challenging, frightening, encouraging, exciting... see it how you will, I think it is always worth a walk on the wild side!!!

It doesn't have to be perfect - whatever your concept of perfect is. This is purely about getting something down on the page, with a picture for inspiration. It can be cathartic, therapeutic - maybe even psychotic.

IT. DOESN'T. MATTER.

Just write. Write from the heart. Don't overthink it. One word at a time. But not more than 1000. That's all a picture represents...

Most of all. H.A.V.E.   F.U.N.

If you make a post for FFF, link back to this blog and drop a link to your direct post in the comments below my own FFF tale.

Just a tech moment... for those who don't know what direct link means. It means the URL specific to the individual post. It's no good if you put up a post for FFF and a few months down the line some random visitor wants to read your post and finds the link is only to your home page and not the story you meant to share.

When you have prepared your post, and it has gone 'live', copy the URL (it will be your blog address PLUS the title HTML). When you comment, you can simply paste the whole link in the comment for folk to highlight and 'right click' to go to the post. Better still, you can hyperlink it by typing the following, but pasting in the URL over where I have put asterisks... Be careful not to overwrite the " at either end of that part of the string.

<a href="**********"rel="nofollow"><b>This is my FFF post!</b></a>

When you link back to my post, you can copy the URL specific to that, and change the descriptor to 'This is YAM's post!'

Easy, right? YES, IT IS!!!

Apropos yesterday's post: the lines were merely a response to a prompt over at Medium - but also came out of some of the frustration of life as the father fades further into Parkinsonism and other conditions. Life is getting to be less and less his own - and by consequence, of Mac1 and I as the main carers.

Thank you for the Love and care in your comments - it's just that thing called life and am getting on with it! Am grateful for that concern and show of support through the ether.

  4. We understand about being a caretaker and send you hugs. Mom's dad had Parkinsons, thankfully he was always pleasant and thankful for those caring for him. Now our Dad spends a lot of time with his father as his health declines.
