You all know by now that matters environmental are of significant interest to me. Political, too, if the truth is told. I like to keep my finger on the pulse, so read widely and regularly. I am not a fan of MSM (main-stream media), but it is what most folk have as their 'rod' for gaining info. I like to dig deeper, though. I subscribe to some sites where investigative journalism takes precedence. Yes, there are still axes ground, but articles with strong reference links get my vote even when I may disagree with some (or all) that is said. I like facts and figures. I am also a fan, being a research addict, of going as much to source as I am able myself.I encourage all to do this also. However, recognising genuine research over bogus is another hazard on the WWW. There are a plethora of very professional-looking sites out there which are just 'rehashers' and perpetrators of theories and myths. It takes time to sort things out. I am fortunate in having that time.

YAM-Aunty, to tell you the truth I have mixed feelings about Gail's interest in environmental matters. Can you believe that on Monday she abandoned me at home for most of the day and went roaming around Glen Tanar with another Plantlife Scotland volunteer, in search of a patch of twinflower on a hill called Slai na Gour. So much for me being the sole focus of her attention now she's retired!
