I got tired. Exhausted. I slept. thus missing (forgetting) a post for today.
But I am here now. Not that it amounts to much.
This is the life just now. Early rising. Late bedding. Maybe some snatched zzzzziiiizzzzz in the intervening hours. Hours filled with laundry and cooking and vacuuming and dusting and keeping old bodies clean and clothed and toileted and fed and on and on and on...
I have been doing a bit of crochet - photo evidence to follow.
I have been reading blogs, commenting on some, but skipping a few too.
Given our situation, you'd think there would be more hours in a day, now.
But it's the same old twenty-four which seem to be less.
This is the life just now.
And another day will dawn.

Hey Dear Friend...thank you for your update. I know you must be weary...sending virtual hugs to you and to your loving Father....may angels sit on your shoulders to help you with your chores.

I'm looking forward to seeing the crochet.
ReplyDeleteStay strong!
Sending hugs,
Gail and Bertie.
It is a challenging life you live right now, but we know you are doing good things. Try to stay rested and remember the caregiver needs caretaking too.
ReplyDeleteCaregiving under any circumstances can be challenging and exhausting, but now under these circumstances when arranging for respite care is seemingly impossible given sequestering, my heart goes out to you. Perhaps you could give yourself a break from scheduled posting and only do it when you're feeling up to it.
ReplyDeleteYou sure have a tough row to hoe...I really do feel for you.
ReplyDeleteTake care of yourself. I skipped a few days of blogs because I realized my whole life is now screen time and if I am working a full f'work day, reading the news, exercising etc etc my whole day is screens, so I took some hours off. Will try and find the balance.
ReplyDeleteIt does need to end soon, for you. Naps are in order.
ReplyDeleteHang in there. Take good care of yourself. It's not an easy time nor is your role at all easy.
ReplyDeleteReminded me of the days when I had to take care of my uncle (dad's younger brother) who was with us and was bed-ridden for a couple of years. Take care.
ReplyDeleteit is eggs-hausting... we have not even a clue what day we have...
ReplyDeleteSending you hugs Yamini.
ReplyDeleteAnd looking forward to a pic of your crochet project.
Be kind to yourself too dear one. We tend to forget that when we are looking after others' needs on a daily basis.
A massive hug to you. And take your time. Recuperate, rest, relax when you can. The screen isn't going to go away.

Hi Yam - I can imagine how exhausted you're feeling ... I wasn't doing as much as you - but I was completely whacked out - and if I had this to deal with ... I'd be on my knees: so sleeping in - good for you. Enjoy whatever crocheting you can get done ... and enjoy your father ...you'll have great memories. Take care - all the best Hilary
ReplyDeletedo what you can when you can and don't push yourself to blog. we know how busy you are and what you are going through as a caregiver. we will all be here when you come and wait until you come back when you leave us.. i am finding it harder to keep up with blogging since i have been shut down than before. makes no sense. i see others are doing to much screen time also
ReplyDeleteCaregivers don't have an easy job of it. Bless you♥
ReplyDeleteCan understand how exhausted you have been feeling.
ReplyDeleteDo take care of yourself, Yamini. Don't exert.
Much love and hugs 💛
Hari Om.
Well, some folks are probably spending more time washing their hands! Caring for another person is tiring, very tiring.
ReplyDeleteNo matter the age. namaste, janice xx
Sending you hugs. Remember to care for yourself as well
