First Friday Filmclub

I bring you a smile-inducing, heart-lifting, mind-stretching wee film about the Magic Of Chess... and can let you know that the 2020 Elementary competition (due May8-15) has been cancelled. Which is a great shame, because of many things that could be played online, this is such a competition!

  1. Learning brain skills sums it up. I had no idea elementary age children played chess.

the Gaylord Center in Nashville is a treat all its own. We were there years ago the lazy river is such fun as is grabbing a coffee to people watch.

  6. I have never understood chess. I only know about the rook. Other than that those children know waaaaaaay more than I do.

  7. I think that chess is great for developing the brain. It's hard though. Those kids are incredible!

  8. Hi Yam - great fun ... and they've got some very clever thoughts as well as understanding of what the game is all about. Have you by chance seen the film 'Queen of Katwe' ... about chess and kids in Uganda ... loved your Friday film club though - thank you ... Hilary
