Och, he was just a lad!!! In the first photo - about 18 years. In the second, about 20. Some of our cousins have come to the party with some images that were not in dad's prodigious image library. Can't help but smile - and that is what such things are for.
We're a wee tad concerned. Having had a really rather blissful autumn, suddenly winter is declaring itself and the rain... O.M.G. the rain... maybe it'll run out by Friday?
Those pictures are wonderful.
ReplyDeleteBut oh the rain...
YAM what wonderful photos and Dad had a radiant smile.
ReplyDeleteThe last funeral we attended was in a heavy cold January rain.
I hope and pray your rain clouds will come up dry on Friday too.
Hugs Cecilia
You dad looked so happy. I hope you have some sun on Friday.
ReplyDeleteWonderful photos! I love it when people bring images of those I love that I've not seen! It is like a window into things I've only heard about!
ReplyDeleteSending you many happy thoughts

What a handsome lad your Dad was!
ReplyDeleteWhat great pictures of your dad.
ReplyDeleteAh, the joy of memories through photos. Your father was handsome even as a young man.
ReplyDeleteHow nice to sort through all the pictures and think, "There's a new one"!
ReplyDeleteI recall pick up like that.
ReplyDeleteCoffee is on and stay safe
yes... such memories are good to bring a smile to us... thanks for sharing them with us...
ReplyDeleteHi Yam - those are two excellent photos of your youthful Dad ... how lovely to have extra photos to add in to the family connections and images. I too do hope it won't rain for you on Friday ... it appears to be a week of unsettled weather ... so I guess as many large brollies as possible. With thoughts for a dry day ... take care -Hilary
ReplyDeleteWhat wonderful photos of your dad. What a lush head of hair he had.
ReplyDeleteOH NO on the rain, prayers it will stop by Friday... these photos are very much like my hubby's photos of himself, he is about the same year as your dad... same look in clothing and hair...
ReplyDeleteHow lovely to find some unknown photos.

Living in north Texas snow was a panic situation. There were about 6 inches of wet snow on the day of my dad's funeral. There were over 250 folks in attendance. I am very sure your day will be a time of honoring your dad no matter the weather. namaste, janice xx
