Menopertiirpurrytoppery: Honouring Dr Seuss!

March the 2nd is the most famous day
to reach out with words and with them to play
giving language an im-ajji-nay-teev boost
and no one did it like that old Dr Seuss!!!

  1. Theodore Gessel was quite the guy! I remember when I was in art school and discovered he was quite the artist beyond his kids books and feel in love with him all over again! Happy Birthday Ted! Thanks for the book reading.

  3. Hi Yam - you know I never came across Dr Seuss until I started blogging! No kids - no need - I guess. I'll be back to watch the video ... but great fun it looks like - all the best - Hilary

  4. Right, try number two.
Like Hilary I had never heard of Dr Seuss and it was only through his films (most notably the Grinch) that I learned about him.

  7. I see that is at least one other person that did not know about dr. Seuss until the blog people started talkin about it. He was never a part of my youth or my children's and we did read but I did not know about dr. Seuss

  8. Mom grew up in Geisel's home town of Springfield, Massachusetts, where they now have a museum in his honor. We think almost all of his most famous books are in the bookshelves upstairs.

  10. We loved Dr. Seuss. Caitlin taught herself to read using one book."Oh the thinks you can think."
Sadly, they aren't going to republish 8 of them because of the racist art in them. I've thought that myself.
