Third in my little pick from the poesie memento. (I've sourced a recent rendition in musical form which you can play to read along with - there is slightly different wording in places, but the essence is the same.) Yes, it's a battle song - but it was written out with Love for my father in particular - and for love of my clan!
Great song!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful and a great way to pay tribute to your dear dad. namaste, janice xx
ReplyDeleteIt was interesting to listen to the song and read the poem / lyrics at the same time - the rhythms and melody make such a difference. Just as in life: tone, intonation, the unspoken pauses - they matter as much as the words we utter.
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed following along reading and listening. I left my comment until I looked up Scotlands Clan McCall which is my maiden name. I found it means son of the battle cheif.. that is me ha ha. except the son part. I love bagpipes hubby hates them. as far back as we can trace, our McCall came here from Ireland but per the info I found, those mccalls went to Ireland from Scotland and same clan info
ReplyDeleteI too enjoyed reading and listening. Definitely proud for your Mac Clan!!!
ReplyDeleteHappy Sunday
Hugs Cecilia
