MenoSundays; Life Lived Lovingly

There are so many who cannot abide silence. They burn with the need to fill it with noise. A great shame, for depth, calm, clarity and peace are to be found there... but also dynamism, creativity, inspiration and all the strong foundations of action.

  1. F is right with you on that value of silence. Mr B on the other hand has to fill every spce with noise. You would ask yourself how they ever thought they could live together. When the tension risrs, Mr B can pipe the noise directly into his head which saves the sanity of the other human member of my household, but she still cringes when her morning time is shattered by the sound of his preferred UK breakfast time radio show being turned on. It is silsnt enough to satisfy F where we are this morning. xxx Mr T

  2. Sorry about the typos - one paw typing on a tablet does that....

  3. Sitting in the kitchen of a huge old house, currently occupied by 17 people including three incredibly noisy pre-teen children, you have no idea how apposite this post is!
    Cheers! Gail.
PS Oh and there are 4 dogs here too.

  4. I live with noise all day long, I long for quiet.. I have yet to convince the noise maker that head phones for the TV would make me so happy. when he goes outside to the pool, i instantly turn off the tv and just listen to the quiet. of course that is broken with the noise of the outside world, cars and mowers and city white noise.
if I have something to learn or figure out how to do it, i prefer total quiet

  5. I keep hoping for silence! It is so noisy outside, with traffic. Sometimes, just for a moment, it is silent.

  6. I 100% agree. Being an only child I learned early to be alone and to enjoy my own company without being lonely\

  7. Nothing beats being in the garden when only the birds are singing.

  8. We enjoy a fair amount of quiet time around here and love being outside in our yard where it isn't so much quiet as it is peaceful with all the sounds of nature. Our property is very large and not in a very populated area so during the week days it can be very quiet.

  9. My favorite times are walking along the river (or the ocean). Just me, the animals, mother nature and the wind. I don't understand those people with headphones....don't get me wrong, I do LOVE music (I even like heavy metal) but there is a place and time.

  10. I am personally working on being ok with silence. It feels weird. Enjoyed your music and beautiful pictures as well.
