"...and the day came when the risk to remain tight in a bud
was more painful than the risk it took to blossom."

STOP PRESS!
Dear ones, Anais' quote advises us that we have to come out of our cocoons in order to move on in the world. We have to face realities. I am adding in this 'post script' at the last minute (literally just before scheduled time) because I think this is so very, very important.
One of my dear vlog pals has been a 'common hero'. I am sharing with you the second of his vids from his recent mercy mission to Ukraine. Yes, he loaded up his van with electrical aid (donated by he and his wife, some of their friends and other goodwill), got in touch with an organisation that is attending to such matters and they offered him assistance. This vid shows the Ukraine portion of the trip. Toward the end, John mentions a donations page and I will place the details below the video. Please, I know everyone would love for Christmas to be all Love and Light and not have to be faced with such as this... but exactly that - it is Christmas and we can all of us share a bit of Love and help to give Light.
Now, the giving page mentioned by John is to be found HERE. The words above are from that page. PLEASE, IF YOU ARE ABLE TO GIVE, DO SO NOW - THE COLLECTION POT IS ONLY OPEN UNTIL JANUARY 13TH.
If you are able, please spread the word! Let's use our own little spidery network to do what we can.
Thank you.
Ukraine has never been far from my mind this year. John is indeed a true hero.
ReplyDeletethe videos show views of this country we have not seen before, God bless these heros for all they are doing. I can't imagine war like this and in all the snow is even worse, and it is horrid to think of those preemies fighting for their lives.
ReplyDeleteHi Yam - a very worthy person to know about, as too his mission ... I'll be back to view... it is just horrendous - and is so very sad ... with thoughts to you and yours over this season - thank you ... Hilary
ReplyDeleteI was very impressed with Ukraine's President's speech in US Congress

We sure wish the war in Ukraine could end very soon and are keeping our paws crossed for everyone in that country.
ReplyDeleteOh, dear, Yam. The pot is under review. Will you please update us and you learn. Thanks so much!

DeleteThat has only happened in the last hour or so, Joanne, as I checked it... yes about half an hour before this response and it was sitting at 66 donations amounting to something in the order of £1750... I will DM John to see if he knows and is willing to share - but this may just be an overnight temporary thing (we are in the wee small hours here)... do please try again tomorrow. Thanks for visiting the page! Yxx
POT IS OPERATIONAL - IT MAY JUST HAVE BEEN A MIDNIGHT AUDIT...
DeleteWhat a good idea, YAM.
ReplyDeleteI watched the video. It's so sad what's happening in Ukraine.
ReplyDeleteIt's not about who is right and who is wrong. It's about people's lives.
Hats off to John for making that risky trip and delivering aid to the hospital.
I just hope that enough resources are raised, and the hospital is able to get all the required equipment.
And, more importantly, there is an end to suffering as soon as possible.
As always, you have the best recommendations.
