Menoizikul; Midweek Musicalisms
My favourite Mongolian Metallers, The Hu, have dropped a new version of their track, Black Thunder, given an even more international appeal by adding American vocalists (neither of whom I knew anything about before hearing this). Apparently they are both well-known and respected musicians in their own right... and this is how we add to our knowledge and appreciation. Following the breadcrumbs thrown us! You'll know whether it was worth following the trail if items from either of them appear here later. Otherwise, just enjoy this slice of Mongolian cultural history given the metal treatment.

ReplyDeleteWow...I didn't think I would like it, but I did(especially the first three minutes). Since moving to New Mexico, I have been studying the local indigenous peoples...and the words of this song cud also apply to their struggle.
