First, may I make a call out to reader "Fay"; I would like your email address please. You can contact me via the form at the bottom of my Linktree list. Ta.
I will mix and match the images between today's and tomorrow's posts. Tomorrow, more of the actual nature of the place. Today, something of the infrastructure. As Hettie demonstrates above, even if confined to the van, there is plenty to see! Those skies are ginormous. The car parking is mostly level and metalled, so there are no problems with mud. Rangers are on hand if there are any queries, and litter-pickers are provided so everyone can do their part. I found a few bits of plastic down on the shore, but very little compared to some places I've been.
Can you spot The Grey? |
One of the days I spent wandering out over the paddocks and down onto the estuary end of the shoreline. Birds were there but somewhat distant. It was a glorious day, again, so I simply enjoyed the sound of the lapping waves (listen out for that on Saturday!) and the calling of the Gulls and Geese.
On my second day there, which rose bright and beautiful once more, I took the northern walk up to the old cemetery.
When I saw the stile steps, I took the invitation! I wandered in and around many of the old stones.
I did photograph the information board... it has seen better days! The keen among you will still have fun biggifying and reading the history. I'll put them in at the bottom. Before I close, though, let me share a tease shot of tomorrow's offerings - a cheeky wee chappy who fancied some of my dried fruit snacks as I sat in the late autumn sun by the cemetery wall.
What a lovely place to stay. We can't wait to see more of your adventure there.
