Menoturals; With A Bit Of Menongling

The first night's parking spot after leaving Dunoon again was at Inveruglas Point, on Loch Lomond's shore. Just about everyone in the world has heard of Loch Lomond, I'm sure! In some respects, like so many places that have become tourism icons, there's a slight sense of the twee about it all. However, there can be no denying the scenery that abounds here, so for this week's Nature Friday post, here are some beauty shots!

First, sunrise over the water, then as it hits Beinn Nairnan shrouded in cloud. The next photo is of the Sloy Hydro Power Station - a place my father liked to drive us past on summer holidays! Built in the early 1950s, it still plays its part in Scotland's renewable energy generation. The last two shots are simply for showing off.

What does menongling (meeting up) have to do with this? Well, in the morning, I got chatting with a young couple who were tent-camping on the shore. They came and had their morning coffee in the van with me and were introduced to warm crumpets for breakfast! Max and Lotte were heading for the far north ... to go surfing!!! They are from Wiesbaden, Germany. Max is a biochemist, and Lotte is in education.

Oh, and I got to get cuddly and close with their rescue dog, Fenrir!!!

Golly, I've met so many delightful peeps and pups since getting my wheels!!! What a lucky lady I am. Now, to complete this nature post, here is the obligatory rose for Rosy...

  1. Superb photography! The German couple and Fenrir look very nice. You are a lucky lady, in no small measure because you have an adventurous spirit, a positive attitude, and can see beyond the "luxuries" that some call necessities.

  2. Every single one of these shots is beautiful. The second one is my favorite. And what a handsome boy that Fenrir is!!! Rosy will be quite impressed with that beauty.
