WYSIWYG

What You See Is What You Get. This is a journal blog, an explore-blog, a bit of this and that blog. Sharing where the mood takes me. Perhaps it will take you too.

It's Nature Friday... and I am short on photographic supply. What I will do for January and February is keep it very simple. A single photo each week to keep Rosy (and Sunny) smiling and bring a little bit of summer into these deep winter days.

Today, though, it is also FFF...

Yellow roses are for friendship. One friendship that has recently been severed is the one I had with Gail. I was not her only friend, though - not by a very long shot.

Last week, in Aberdeen's Hazelhead Park, those who could attend gathered in her memory to celebrate her life.

  1. Hi Yam - I love that colour ... stunning - and I didn't know yellow roses are for friendship. I'm sad I missed Gail's service ... I was ill ... but I know you totally related to your time with Gail - it's so good that Nobby will be around our lives via you for a while yet - take care and have a peaceful weekend - Hilary

  5. YAM Aunty this photo is so life like I found myself wanting to lean and to sniff it's fragrance.
I can only imagine how deeply you feel the loss of Gail and Nobby's friendship. You knew them in the flesh and furs. Their voices and barks music to your ears. I feel a deep loss even though I never met them.
I keep you in my thoughts each day....and all of Gail's friends.
    Hugs Cecilia

  7. Your friendship with Gail will live in your heart. The rose is so beautiful and I believe that when you seen one from now on it will remind you of your very special friendship. Nobby will still be there though and you will see him, not sure about this?

  8. Yes, I knew about the berries and the gin, I just like to think of drunken coyotes every time they come in the fall to eat the fallen nuts. They eat them in such huge amounts I worry about them getting tummy aches, more than any other effects.

  11. That is a most beautiful rose for Gail. And that friendship may be physically severed, but it will forever be emblazoned in your heart.
